■Overview
This position is for software engineer located in Japan.
We Sell Cellular (WSC), an ITOCHU Group company operating within the Circular Tech business, is seeking a Software Engineer to build and
operate the systems that power our device lifecycle, logistics, and marketplace platforms.
This role will contribute to the development of backend services, internal tools, and platform systems supporting critical business operations. You will work closely with engineering teams in the United States and collaborate with Belong Inc., a fellow ITOCHU Group company in Japan that operates within the same Circular Tech business and maintains its own engineering organization.
This is an opportunity to work on high-impact, real-world systems while helping establish foundational engineering practices within a growing global
Circular Tech platform.

We Sell Cellular is a leading U.S.-based distributor and lifecycle operator of pre-owned mobile devices, and part of ITOCHU Groupʼs global Circular Tech initiative.

Our engineering organization builds and operates systems supporting:
・Device lifecycle and inventory management
・Warehouse and logistics operations
・Pricing optimization and operational tooling
・Internal business platforms and integrations
You will contribute to building and evolving these systems while collaborating with global engineering teams across the ITOCHU Group, including Belong Inc.in Japan.

■Responsibilities:Your responsibilities will include
Backend and Platform Development
・Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using languages such as Python, Go, or TypeScript
・Build and maintain scalable and reliable systems supporting internal operations and platform functionality
・Contribute to system architecture and technical design

Infrastructure and DevOps
・Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code Terraform)
・Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions
・Manage and operate cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform
・Improve deployment processes, system reliability, and operational efficiency
・Implement monitoring, observability, and operational best practices

Production Operations and Reliability
・Support production systems, including incident response, troubleshooting,
and root cause analysis
・Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance
・Contribute to operational automation and continuous improvement

Data and Infrastructure Integration
・Design and maintain database schemas and queries using PostgreSQL,
CloudSQL, or similar technologies
・Contribute to data platform integration, including interaction with BigQuery
and internal data systems
・Support system reliability, performance, and scalability

Collaboration and Engineering Excellence
・Collaborate with product, operations, and engineering teams across the U.S. and Japan
・Contribute to improving engineering standards, processes, and platform capabilities
・Help integrate modern development tools, including AI-assisted development tools where appropriate

■業務内容
本ポジションでは、アプリケーション開発に加え、Terraform を⽤いたインフラ管理や CI/CD パイプラインの構築‧運⽤など、DevOps 領域にも主体的に関わっていただきます。

バックエンドおよびプラットフォーム開発
・Python、Go、TypeScript等を⽤いたバックエンドサービスおよびAPIの設計‧開発‧運⽤

■Overview
This position is for data engineer located in Japan.
We are seeking a Data Engineer to help build and scale the data platform that powers We Sell Cellularʼs Circular Tech business. This role will be responsible for designing, building, and operating data pipelines and data infrastructure that enable data-driven decision-making across our operational, commercial, and platform systems.
You will play a critical role in establishing We Sell Cellularʼs internal data engineering capability while collaborating closely with Belong Inc., a fellow
ITOCHU Group company in Japan that operates within the same Circular Tech business and maintains its own engineering organization.
This is an opportunity to work on high-impact systems supporting real-world logistics, device lifecycle management, and marketplace operations.

We Sell Cellular WSC) is a leading U.S.-based distributor and lifecycle operator of used smartphones and electronic devices, and is part of ITOCHU
Groupʼs global Circular Tech initiative.Our business operates at the intersection of logistics, pricing optimization, device lifecycle management, and marketplace platforms. Data plays a critical role in optimizing operations, pricing strategies, supply chain efficiency, and business intelligence.
We are building an internal data platform to support these capabilities and enable scalable, reliable, and actionable insights across the organization. You will collaborate with engineering and data teams across the group, including Belong Inc. in Japan, while building and owning We Sell Cellularʼs
data infrastructure in the United States.

■Responsibilities：Your responsibilities will include:

Data Platform and Pipeline Development
・Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines supporting operational, commercial, and platform systems
・Build and maintain data warehouse infrastructure using modern ELT frameworks such as BigQuery and dbt
・Integrate and transform data from multiple sources into well-structured, queryable data models
・Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems

Data Modeling and Analytics Enablement
・Design and maintain logical and physical data models to support analytics and operational use cases
・Enable business intelligence and reporting through collaboration with stakeholders
・Build dashboards and reporting solutions using BI tools such as Looker and Looker Studio
・Support advanced analytics, pricing optimization, and operational insights

Data Infrastructure and Engineering Excellence
・Establish best practices for data engineering, testing, monitoring, and pipeline reliability
・Implement data validation, testing, and observability practices
・Optimize performance and scalability of data pipelines and warehouse infrastructure

Cross-Functional Collaboration
・Work closely with engineering, operations, product, and business teams to understand data requirements
・Collaborate with global engineering teams, including Belong Inc., to align on architecture and best practices
・Help establish and evolve We Sell Cellularʼs data engineering capability

Team and Organizational Contribution
・Contribute to improving engineering processes and technical standards
・Support onboarding and mentoring of future team members as the organization grows

価格設定、在庫効率、および業務運営における競争⼒をさらに強化するため、当社では現在、データエンジニアを募集しています。特に、データに基づく価格戦略の⽴案、在庫の最適化、そして DIO（在庫回転⽇数）、利益率、販売速度（SalesVelocity） を中⼼としたKPIの改善に取り組むための、統合データ分析基盤の構築に注⼒していただきます。

このポジションでは、営業、購買、オペレーション、および倉庫チームと密接に連携しながら、販売‧在庫データの収集‧クレンジング‧適切な形式での保存を⾏います。各種サービスから発⽣するデータを BigQuery を中⼼に適切なデータストレージへ保存し、その後調査‧分析‧活⽤するためのデータ分析基盤を構築することを期待しています。

We Sell Callular では⽇々、価格データ‧アクセスログ‧販売KPI関連など様々なデータが発⽣します。これらのデータは様々なデータソースで発⽣するため、統合データ分析基盤に情報穂を集約し、ビジネスを推進するための分析を⾏いやすくします。また、本ポジションでは⾃⾝でスクリプトを作成しデータの収集⾃体や、データソースの API を利⽤してデータを抽出することや、データマート構築後、価格モデルの構築、そしてビジネス上の意思決定を直接⽀援するダッシュボードの作成にも取り組むことができます。
